Week #28

Hey Mis!

Happy belated Easter! Sorry you had a tough week, but at least the weekend was good! That's cool that you'll have a house next semester! That's crazy you went into the MTC three years ago! Some days I can't believe I've already been out six months. We had a great week! First off, we had a baptism yesterday! His name is Rob Dietz. It was awesome to see how far he came on his journey to the gospel. He's going to be a solid member. He has one of the strongest conversions and testimonies that I have seen. I had the opportunity to speak at his baptism, and it was such a great spiritual experience. I'll attach pictures in a separate email. We also had a zone training meeting this week, and I saw my trainer!!!! He's in my zone now as a district leader, but he's in the Black Mountain Stake. Elder Williams, from my MTC district, also got transferred into Black Mountain as a district leader! So I got to see him too. It was awesome!! I'm really excited for this transfer. We have a baptism this Tuesday for a 9 year old named Raymond Canales. He's a smart kid! We're really excited for him. And we have another baptism coming up the week after General Conference. The work in this area has really taken off! Both ward mission leaders that we work with have been impressed and excited by the work that is going on! It's been great to see that no matter how "dead" an area may be, miracles can still happen!

That was my week! I hope you guys had a great Easter. It was sort of a tough day for me, just cuz I remember how festive Mom was around the holidays, and I missed you guys a lot too. BUT, church was pretty sweet, and we had Easter dinner with the Nicolaides family, and it was awesome! They sent Dad a picture, you'll have to try to steal it from him haha. Have a great week!

Week #27

Hey Mis!

Thanks for the pictures! Looks like you had a ton of fun! That's cool that you guys got to do all that. How close was Asia to Teixeira's butt?? Hahaha jk. As for Chuck and Lori, I sent a thank you email to Chuck. Hopefully he got it, but if not, I can write a letter. What's his address?

I'm sure you noticed, but I hit 6 months!! I'll send the ceremonial video at the elders quorum president's house in another email. It's been crazy how much time has gone by, even though the days are long. Also, Elder Moen and I are staying together for the next transfer. I love this area. The members are a HUGE help. The guy the Van Ordens sent Dad a picture of standing next to me is getting baptized Saturday, and it has been a great experience seeing him turn around so quickly. Charlie is doing well, the next hurdle he has is coming to church, and the Bishop of that ward has actually taken an initiative in helping him and Tommy out. He's one of the best bishops I have seen. We have a baptism this Saturday, and another next week and the week after that. This area has taken off, and even the members have noticed. I love serving here. We helped the neighbors of the ZLs move out of their apartment Saturday morning. It was pretty fun, except for they had a gun safe. It wasn't the lightest thing in the world. Me and three other elders carried it out of the apartment, across the lawn in the complex, into the truck. Once we put it in the truck, the owner was like "wow, nice job guys! I didn't even have to take out the guns and ammo! Or use the trolley!" -_- I'm still a little bit sore. That was my week! I hope you have a good one. How's school been?

Week #26

Hey Mis! 

First, I'm proud of you for proposing that argument in your class haha. That's pretty funny. Second, that's an awesome picture! Sounds like a good week!

My week was busy. The ZLs asked me and Moen to help them in some trainings in ZTC. Elder Valles and I did a training on our purpose as missionaries. We did a chair race, and it was to prove which chair was being used for the right purpose. It was awesome, I'll attach a video in a different email. I also went on three exchanges this week. I went with the ZLs first with Elder Wasden, then with Elder Whitten, then with Elder Glunt. Each experience was pretty awesome. On my exchange with Elder Glunt, we had dinner with a recent convert and her non-member family, and the Spanish elders were there too because her mom speaks only Spanish. So, I got to see Elder Simpson, my first district leader, and it was awesome! He goes home in August. Nothing else too exciting this week. We did have the most people at church this week that we've ever had though!! Which was awesome. That was pretty much my week! I find out if Moen gets transferred this week. We'll see! Week #25

Hey Mis!

First off, I'm sorry, I don't have much time today, so I'm gonna be sorta quick. The next transfer is in two weeks. This is the last 7-week transfer. Sounds like you had a pretty good week, aside from not getting the teaching job. That's what you get for being a good worker! They can't lose you :P that's still a bummer though. How's Marshall? I had a busy week. First off, Nancy got baptized on Saturday! It was awesome. We put in a lot of work with her, but it paid off! The ward has received her very well. She's solid. We also got to teach Charlie this week, and he's doing awesome! We also have been working with Rob, who is going to be baptized March 31st. The last lesson we had we were on splits, so I taught Rob the Word of Wisdom, and he loved it! He lives with the Van Ordens, and Sis. Van Orden sent a picture of me and Rob to Dad, as you know. They're an awesome family, and he's an awesome dude. Other than that, we didn't have much out of the ordinary. We've sort of been grinding it out these last couple weeks. That was my week! I'm glad you're having going to spring training again. Have a great week!
