Week #37

Hey Mis!

I hope you had a good week! This week was a struggle. I was sick for half of the week, which didn't help haha. We had a big struggle teaching this week, most of our investigators were out of town, and a lot of our members were out of town too. But we had a cool experience on Sunday. We went on splits with two brothers, Cade and Jake Van Orden. While we were on splits, we found three new people to teach in just an hour! It was pretty sweet. And both the Van Orden boys are awesome, which made it even more fun. They really enjoyed going out with the missionaries. Other than that, my week wasn't too eventful. How are hints in Utah? Are you excited to be heading back to NY soon? When do you go back again? Have a great week!

Love ya Mis!

Week #36

Hey Mis!

Sounds like a good week! I was asked out once when I was in Rexburg, and it was interesting being on the other side, but it was awesome! Less work for me haha.

I had an interesting week. It was actually sort of a struggle is week. Our teaching pool has sort of dried up a bit, we've had to drop some of the people that we're teaching, and we haven't been able to find as many people to teach. We've had a lot of success with reactivation though! One of the less actives that we have been working with just got the Aaronic priesthood! The bishop said that if he keeps it up in two months he could be able to be ordained to the Melchizedek priesthood! We helped someone move for six hours on Saturday -_- haha. It was good to help them out, but it took a really long time. We've had a lotttttttt of service hours this month, it's been pretty crazy. We also found a less active member this week that had just moved back to Vegas from Utah. It was sort of a miracle that we found her, because she needed a lot of help moving in right when we met her. So, we helped her move in too haha. We're going to try to visit her this week, and try to get her records into our ward. We had interviews this week with President and Sister Snow. It was good to sit down and talk with them for a little bit. They actually asked a lot about you guys. They knew Mother's Day was tough for me, and they said that they were thinking a lot about me that day. They're awesome, I love President and Sister Snow.

That was pretty much my week! I hope you have a good one!

Love you Mis!

Week #35

Hey Mis!

Sounds like a good week! Did you drive down in the Forester? That was my favorite one out of all our cars back home. I can't believe Asia got a new puppy. It's funny that I was the one that "earned" it when we were kids, and now they get one when I'm gone haha. I love the pictures! They're awesome, looks like a good trip. I had an interesting week. We had to drop seven of the people we were teaching, but we found some really promising people to teach! Plus, there's this lady named Sherry. We hadn't taught her for two months, and then out of nowhere I SAW HER IN THE CHAPEL. I started to talk to her and she said she wanted to check out what our church was like. I sat next to her during sacrament, and she had tons of questions. She's a pastor herself (she has a doctorate in divinity), so she had a bunch of questions about priesthood authority. Our ward mission leader was able to help her a lot with those concerns, and we're going to start
visiting her again this week. We're super excited!

We also had two dinners one night -_- we had a normal dinner appointment with a Hispanic family. They fed us two pieces of steak, and a ton of rice and beans. Then we go to an appointment afterwards, where we're teaching a lady named Mona in a member's home. We walk in and the members are like "perfect timing elders! Dinner is ready." Leakehe and I looked at each other and fear came across our faces. We walk to the dinner table, and they're having BURGERS. More meat -_- so we ate two each. We had food stuffed into our face the whole night. We got home that night and we both just passed out on the floor. But, that lesson with Mona went really well! She had some pushy missionaries before, so we're teaching a little bit slower, and she's learning a lot. This area is doing really well! Elder Leakehe and I work together pretty well too, so it's been fun!

That was pretty much my week! Have you heard much from the old gang? I know Sean Sasser is killing it in Argentina! What are some fun plans you have this week? Have a great week!

Love you Mis!
