Week #34

Hey Mis!

It was good to Skype yesterday with you guys! I really enjoyed it. I wish we could've talked for longer. It's been an interesting week. My new comp, Elder Leakehe, is a really good guy. It's been interesting trying to transition to working with a new companion. We sort of had a down week, but that was sort of expected. Leakehe has been out for almost a year, so he's a little bit older than Moen. It was sort of interesting, because in President's email, he was saying that Leakehe is really awesome, but because of his culture he's a little too laid back haha. He told me I might need to be the "spark plug". So we'll see how that goes!

We had a couple of good lessons this week! We got to teach Kim again, she's doing super well! She's basically a member now. She signed up to feed us next month already haha. Our recent converts are doing really well too! We had a ward BBQ this weekend, and all of our recent converts game, and they really enjoyed it. We also got to teach Katie and her kids. They're doing really well, except they haven't been able to come to church :( But we're still working on them! Other than that, my week was sort of boring. This week is shaping up to be a lot better though! Hope you have a great week!

Love you Mis!

Week #33

Hey Mis! Looks like a super fun trip! I've never been out there, I'll have to check it out some time when I get back! Tell Adrienne I said hi! Idk if she remembers me haha. As for FaceTime, probably 7 o'clock NY time. I don't know how long yet, the ZLs haven't told us. But I'm super excited!!! I had an awesome week! First off, we had a devotional from Elder Holland!!!!!! And Elder Lynn G. Robbins. It was awesome! I got to shake both their hands! Plus the devotional itself was amazing. They talked a lot about how the kind of missionary we are determines the kind of person we will become, it was pretty awesome. I loved it! We were combined with the West mission, so I also got to see Mike Ernst from the Elmira Ward! It was pretty awesome. He took a picture on his iPad, but I haven't gotten it yet. It was an awesome day though!

We also received transfer calls. Elder Moen is getting transferred to Anthem, which is he richest part of Henderson. He leaves Tuesday morning. My new companion will be Elder Leakehe (lay-uh-kay-hey). He's Samoan and from Australia! I knew him when I was in North Las Vegas. He's a really good guy! I'm really excited. Other than Holland and transfers, nothing too crazy has happened this week. We've found some new people to teach this week though! We're teaching a part-member family consistently now, and they're doing super well!!! It's been awesome. I love this area, I'm glad I'm still staying! That was pretty much my week! I hope you guys have a good one! See ya Sunday!

Love ya Mis!

Week #32

Hey Mis!

Sounds like a really fun week! We had another baptism, but I haven't gotten the pictures yet. We're still working on our Batman video, but it's looking pretty awesome. I'm jealous of your trip next week! Sounds like a fun time!

I had a busy week! We had a really good lesson with Kim Nester and her fiancĂ©, Donovan. They gave us this amazing brownie dessert too, which is always a plus. I got to go on an exchange this week. I went with Elder Dodge, and he's from Indiana. He's been out for four months. He's a really good, hardworking missionary! I had a lot of fun working with him. We got kicked out of an apartment complex on our way to an appointment because someone called the apartment security on us for "soliciting". Old me would've stated that we technically weren't soliciting, but we didn't want to get into trouble, so we called the person we were visiting and left the complex. It was an interesting experience haha. On Wednesday Elder Moen and I had a really good lesson with Bert and Vicki Thompson, an older couple who had lost their daughter to homicide. We brought Sis. Clauson from the ward, and she talked to them a lot about it. Little did we know she had lost her brother to homicide as well, and his case is still open. It was one of the coolest lessons I had been a part of. We also taught a lady named Katie, who has three kids. We taught them the principles of the gospel, and they're set to be baptized May 21st!

We're super excited about it. Plus, we had a baptism on Saturday! Her name is Zeydi Garza, she's 9 years old. Her mom is supposed to send us the pictures, but she hasn't yet haha. I'll send them when I get them. That was pretty much my week. Me and my comp are doing better, we've been doing super well lately. Have a great week!!

Love you Mis!
